Growth Investor Awards

eve Sleep crowned Growth Champion of the year at 2016 Growth Investor Awards

•    eve Sleep topped shortlist featuring Carwow, Darwin & Wallace, Flyvictor, Go Outdoors, Gousto, Notonthehighstreet.com and Outplay Entertainment
•    Winner chosen by combination of public vote and 2 phase judging selection

eve Sleep took home the highly coveted Growth Champion of the Year prize at last night’s 2016 Growth Investor Awards. Sponsored by Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, tax and investment management group, the award recognises scale-up businesses and their founders/CEOs. The award was open to any business that used growth capital to scale and the winner was judged on how that investment and associated support had been optimised – including growth metrics and deployment.

The Award was presented to eve Sleep by Guy Rigby of Smith & Williamson at a black tie dinner attended by 400 guests at the Marriott Grosvenor Square in Mayfair. Eve Sleep fought off strong competition from a shortlist of Carwow, Darwin & Wallace, Flyvictor, Go Outdoors, Gousto, Notonthehighstreet.com and Outplay Entertainment.

On presenting the award Guy Rigby, head of entrepreneurial services at Smith & Williamson, said: “eve Sleep launched in February 2015, raising three rounds of funding and hitting revenues of £1.5 million a month. This is an incredible achievement for such a young, start-up company!”

The Growth Investor Awards were created to recognise innovation, to highlight the importance of venture capital schemes, the industry's contribution to job growth and wealth creation, and finally, to honour all those involved in putting investment to work in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Commenting on the award, Kuba Wieczorek, eve Sleep’s Chief Brand Officer, said::

Winning the Growth Champion of the year award is amazing recognition for all the hard work that the eve team and investors have put in to achieve such significant growth in such a short time. In just 18 months eve Sleep has gone from the four founders to a team of 50 covering 6 countries: US, Germany, France, Poland, Netherlands, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. And the vision with our latest funding is to supercharge that growth further in these new countries and in new product development.

Daniel Kiernan, research director at Intelligent Partnership, headed up the panel of independent judges. He explained why the judging panel selected eve Sleep:  “This team has achieved an incredible amount, particularly with seed funding. Rapid growth, global expansion and brand development meant they significantly outstripped expectations and maintained great relationships with investors throughout.”

The night also featured keynote speeches that highlighted the importance of companies using tax advantaged venture capital schemes to help them scale up quickly, as well the need to support SMEs that are creating jobs, generating tax revenue and helping to drive Britain’s economic recovery.
