Commercial disputes and dispute resolution

Commercial disputes take many forms – breach of contract, international arbitrations, professional negligence claims – all of which can be costly, time-consuming, stressful and complex.

Disputes are rarely straightforward and can often turn in an unexpected direction. Working with a quantum expert who can explain the process in accessible terms and provide clear advice on the best way to proceed can relieve the stress and minimise the drain on your time and resources.

Commercial disputes typically involve tight deadlines and demand experienced advisers with the skills and resources to hit the ground running and stay on top of every aspect of the case.

Frequently asked questions

In which courts/forums has your team operated?

Our team is regularly engaged in cases across the Criminal, Civil and Family Courts in the UK, in various international Commercial Litigation forums, for various regulatory bodies, and for various international competition authorities.  For more information about our work in various courts, please see the following pages:

Do you have experience in my industry?

Forensic accountants generally work across all industries and build up a wide range of experience.  Part of the forensic skill set is to quickly gain an understanding of any industry and the issues pertinent to the case.  The forensic work required on each case can be similar, regardless of the industry in which the dispute or other concern arose.

Do I hire my own forensic accountant?

We can be instructed directly, however if you have engaged solicitors in connection with the matter we are typically engaged through the instructing solicitor.

What if I didn’t engage the forensic accountant to testify at the start of the case?

As a case progresses, for example if a mediation fails, the role of an advisor may be changed to that of an expert.

Will the forensic accountant support my case?

Where we are engaged as an Expert Witness, our duty is to the Court and not to the ultimate party.  Only by providing an independent opinion can the Court rely on our findings.  Where we are acting as an Expert Advisor we can advocate for our client but not provide evidence.

How are fees calculated?

Fees are specific to each case and may be agreed on a fixed or hourly basis depending on the nature and complexity of the case.
