Smith & Williamson is delighted to be hosting our fifth seminar for Members of Defined Benefit Pension Schemes on Friday 23rd October at 11am, which may be of relevance to you or another interested party. This year we will also be covering Approved Retirement Funds (ARFs) for any members of any pension scheme that are interested in accessing the ARF option with their pension assets.
The number of Defined Benefit schemes in Ireland fell from 2,557 in 1991 to 1,541 in 2003 and fell further to 570 continuing schemes as at 31st December 2019*. Many members are not aware of the range of options available to them under these schemes.
Approved Retirement Funds were introduced in 2000 as an alternative to Annuities and have proved to be very popular in facilitating pensioners to manage their retirements funds after they have left employment.
This unique event will attempt to educate Members on their options as it relates to Defined Benefit Schemes and Approved Retirement Funds and highlights other key areas of consideration.
As a consequence of the Covid -19 restrictions, this year’s event will be hosted via Webinar, the details of which will be available once you have registered.
