Smith & Williamson are launching a series of webinars on hot topics for banking institutions and would like to invite you to the first virtual breakfast roundtable event on 06 October 2020.
One of the key areas that is relevant for banks currently is the Directive on Administrative Cooperation (“DAC6”) and our first roundtable will focus on this important topic. These complex rules need appropriate consideration by banking institutions, given the nature of their businesses. In particular, banks should be undertaking impact assessments to analyse past arrangements, putting processes and procedures in place ready for the 30-day reporting obligation from 1 January 2021 and preparing for reporting. We anticipate that compliance with DAC6 will be a key area of focus for HMRC after the pandemic.
Our roundtable will provide an opportunity to discuss the rules and practical steps to enable compliance with S&W’s DAC6 team and other banking representatives. We are also pleased to confirm that a representative from HMRC will be attending our roundtable provide an update and help answer questions on DAC6.
In particular, we will be discussing:
- Overview of the rules
- Common themes for the banking sector
- Practical approaches
- Timetable for compliance
- Challenges and how to overcome them
- Q & A
Who Should Join?
- Tax professionals, FD’s, CFOs and compliance, regulatory and reporting professionals
