Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Smith & Williamson Birmingham Charity Conference was held as a virtual event this year. The conference was held as two webinars.

Investment Management Charities

We were delighted to welcome Steve Baylis, from the Archdiocese of Birmingham who shared his insights into the challenges that face many charities in terms of fundraising, many of which were evolving prior to 2020 but have been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic. We also welcomed James Lloyd, from Mayfair Capital Limited to discuss how property has become an integral part of most portfolios and how this can be achieved via PITCH, a successful specialist charity vehicle. There were also some familiar faces from S&W: Daniel Casali our investment strategist who guided attendees through the myriad of investment options for 2021 and beyond, and Luke Hunter addressed the current debate over "growth vs value" and how this may affect our investment approach over the short and long term.

Who should attend?

Trustees and senior executives from charities.
