S&W Sessions are a regular series of thought provoking hot topic webinars that are relevant to your business.

Business rates tax continues to be one of the largest occupational overheads of UK commercial property, generating over £25 billion a year in England to fund vital local services. The global pandemic was responsible for delaying the next revaluation of UK Business rates from 1 April 2021 to 1 April 2023 and has been one of many contributing factors in the commitment to review the Business Rates system.

The recent publication of the Business Rates: Technical consultation by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities sets out how the Government intends to give effect to a number of measures arising from its business rates review.

This webinar looks to cover a round-up of the key changes to business rates intended to be introduced over the 2023 and 2026 revaluations. It seeks to raise awareness of the change and assist UK ratepayers with preparing to navigate the new system whilst understanding the impacts of these changes to their business in advance of 2023 revaluation.

This webinar will cover

The key changes to the business rates system as set out in the recent Business Rates: Technical Consultation
New Green Reliefs for business rates
Comment on the Online Sales Tax (OST) consultation and how an OST may reduce business rates for retailers with properties in England

Who should join?

Professionals, landlords and business owners wishing to gain a wider understanding of the impending changes to UK business rates and what this means for them.
