Smith & Williamson LLP, which is part of the Tilney Smith & Williamson group, has announced that Avi Heeralall has joined the firm as a Partner and Head of Technology Audit.
Avi joins from Grant Thornton’s TMT division and has an additional 10 years’ experience of working in Big Four firms. He has joined Smith & Williamson LLP as an audit specialist in the Technology sector and will lead the firm’s charge in this area.
Avi has worked within a significant number of technology sub-sectors, including robotic process automation, cyber security, license / software as a service across multiple industries, payment services, fintech, business information and online gaming. He has also advised various network, cloud and unified communications businesses.
Guy Swarbreck, Partner at Smith & Williamson LLP commented: “I am delighted to welcome Avi to Smith & Williamson. Technology is one of our core sectors and Avi’s experience and dynamic approach gives us an opportunity to further increase our presence in the market.”
Avi added: “I was attracted to join Smith & Williamson given the firm’s focus on the mid-market which is where my experience lies. Smith & Williamson not only has strategic partnerships with state-of-the-art entrepreneurs and global IT businesses, but also invests in the creation of new tools and platforms to provide real value through clever automated data analytics across various parts of the audit. I have already been impressed with the team’s strategy of initially building relationships with shareholders before going on to support companies. Smith & Williamson puts considerable emphasis on keeping an eye on what’s happening on the horizon for companies and then discussing what’s coming down the line for them.”
