Statement from Mark Ford, lead joint trustee in the bankruptcy estate of Boris Becker.
“Finbarr O’Connell, Gil Lemon and I, all of Smith & Williamson LLP,were appointed joint trustees of the bankruptcy estate of Mr Becker on 21 August 2017. Since that period, we have been working to ascertain the size of the estate of Mr Becker his worldwide assets and income streams, the quantum of any amounts owed to him and the extent of any claims against him.”
“This work remains on-going and we would encourage anyone with information as to assets or income, or a claim, to get in touch. However, we are not in a position to adjudicate on the validity, or quantum, of these claims at this point.”
“We are working with Mr Becker and the creditors to realise all assets and achieve the best possible outcome for all concerned. With regard to the above, some progress has been made and we hope the process will accelerate in the coming days and weeks.”
“Part of the role of a UK insolvency practitioner is ensuring the creditors remain informed on the progress of the bankruptcy. This involves regular reporting, which includes estimates of the claims against the individual as well as estimates of total assets and any approximations of claims the individual may have against others. This document is produced for the benefit of the creditors and is a private document, the contents of which we are unable to comment on.”
