Smith & Williamson, the financial and professional services firm, has won a national award for its work with fast-growth businesses – the third in as many years. Smith & Williamson won the “Large Firm Innovation of the Year" award at this year’s British Accountancy Awards, held at London’s Grosvenor House hotel.
The firm was recognised for its programme developed for fast-growth companies, which includes roadshows, events and an online diagnostic tool, as well as its award-winning Dream Bigger campaign.
The judges described the firm’s entry as an excellent investment which is delivering a firm-wide approach, producing growth for both the UK economy and scale-up companies.
Stephen Drew, professional services managing partner at Smith & Williamson in Birmingham, said the firm provides a suite of services to meet the personal and financial needs of founders, management teams and their businesses.
“Helping businesses to scale-up and grow is at the heart of our agenda and Birmingham and the wider region are among the best places in the UK to grow a business,” he said.
“This is the third award in as many years for our scale-up programme, which demonstrates the impact our work is having in the industry and for clients.
“It is a key time to champion home-grown scaling businesses which are so important for our economy. This is an area of the market we understand extremely well, and we look forward to continuing our work with ambitious entrepreneurs, helping businesses to thrive with our unique service and thought-leadership.”
The awards were judged by several highly-respected representatives of the profession and Smith & Williamson was up against KPMG, Menzies and Price Bailey in the category.
