In a further boost to its Forensic Services practice, Adrian Martin has joined Smith & Williamson LLP as a Director.

The Smith & Williamson Forensic Services team is a highly respected provider of specialist forensic services. For over 25 years, its team of forensic experts have provided a range of advice across areas including fraud and financial crime, commercial disputes, valuations, professional negligence matters, monitoring trustee and competition services, and forensic technology.

David Alexander, a chartered accountant and certified fraud examiner, joined Smith & Williamson’s Forensic Services department in 2008 to lead the Fraud & Financial Crime team. With over 30 years’ specialist experience in fraud and forensic accounting services, he has been an integral part of the sustained growth of the firm’s forensics practice. He is widely recognised as a leading name for asset recovery matters by clients, who include high-net-worth individuals and multinational companies.
David commented: “I am delighted to take on this new role and look forward to continuing the success achieved under Doug Hall’s stewardship. We have some ambitious plans over the next five year to grow both the number of practitioners and breadth of service lines.”

Meanwhile, Adrian Martin has joined Smith & Williamson from Alvarez & Marsal. He has over 10 years’ experience of providing expert witness advice, in the assessment of quantum, in commercial disputes in various forums including the UK High Court, international arbitrations under different rules (ICSID, ICC, LCIA, UNCITRAL and JCAA), and specialist competition tribunals (the UK Competition Appeal Tribunal).

David added: “We are delighted that Adrian has joined our team. He brings a wealth of experience and shares our vision to grow the practice. Adrian’s recruitment into the team complements the strength of the existing expert witness practice and he will contribute to the success and growth in this specialist area, particularly in investor-state arbitrations and disputes involving competition law.”
