Anthony joins from EY, where he led the London FS private client team and advised ultra high-net-worth individuals and their families on their UK tax affairs. In particular, he has extensive experience advising on the taxation of resident non-domiciled individuals.

Peter Castle joins Smith & Williamson from Crowe U.K. LLP where he was a Director and he has over 15 years’ experience working with private clients. His extensive client base includes high-net-worth individuals, owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs, non-domiciled individuals and families with inherited wealth and trust structures to manage.

Anthony said: “It is a great honour to join the strong team of outstanding tax professionals at Smith & Williamson. I believe the firm has a powerful and unique client proposition. The ability to be able to bring tax, financial planning and investment management services to a client means that the group can consider all aspects of a client’s wealth and tax needs.”

Peter added: “I am delighted to have joined the private client tax team at Smith & Williamson. Since joining, I have found the longevity of the staff quite comforting as it shows people like working here and staff retention says a lot about a firm.”

Toby Tallon, Head of Private Client Tax Services – London at Smith & Williamson commented: “The market for hiring experienced practitioners is very competitive. Especially for those with a zest to use commercial and practical insight, as well as technical skills, to help clients protect and grow their wealth and to help their business interests achieve success. Moreover, the current global pandemic means that Smith & Williamson’s advisers have an even more vital and urgent role to help our clients react and proactively plan. Hence we are delighted with both Anthony and Peter joining the team.”
