Colin Hardman and Kevin Ley of Smith & Williamson LLP have been appointed administrators over The Raphael Medical Centre Limited and Glenside Manor Healthcare Services Limited, and have sold the Raphael Hospital, Swanborough House, Glenside Farnborough and the closed Glenside Facility to Renovo Care Group.

The sale ensures that 113 patients with neurological conditions including acquired brain injury and progressive neurological disorders across the three open facilities will receive continuity of care. Many of the patients have high dependency needs and are very vulnerable.

Philip Smith, Group CEO at Renovo Care Group, said: “I am delighted that the future of the three sites has been secured by Renovo Care Group and the 113 patients, 300 members of staff and NHS and local authority commissioners can be reassured that it is business as usual. We have already started a rebranding exercise and have plans to improve quality and expand the business.”

“Many of the patients have significant needs and continuity of care is very important to their ongoing care and treatment. These transactions ensure this which is very good news.”

Colin Hardman commented: “The joint administrators are delighted to have completed on the sale of both these businesses. We will be working closely with the new owners, management and the Care Quality Commission to ensure the ongoing provision of care to all patients.”
