Smith & Williamson, the financial and professional services firm, has continued to expand its Birmingham team to meet growing client demand in challenging times.
The Birmingham office has recently welcomed a number of high-calibre new joiners. Nataliya Shevchenko joined the Valuations team as manager this month and Anthony Cakebread and David Allsebrook joined the Audit and Assurance team as assistant manager and accounts senior. In March, Vickram Selvakumar joined the Business Tax team as a manager and, in January, David Yewdall joined the firm from PwC as a Partner in the Employer Solutions division. Together, they bring a range of technical expertise to the already well-known and highly-respected team of Smith & Williamson specialists in Birmingham.
David Yewdall’s core specialism involves handling international employment tax matters in various jurisdictions, as well as UK domestic employer compliance issues. He has worked with a range of corporate clients across all sectors, ranging from entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses to listed companies, and has extensive experience in successfully managing a number of global mobility programmes.
He said: “I’m really excited to be part of such a strong team of experts in Birmingham at this important time of growth, both in terms of the regional team as a whole and of further strengthening the service we offer our large corporate clients across the UK on Global Mobility, Employment Taxes and People Incentives in particular. Now, more than ever, clients need our pragmatic support.”
Matt Watts, who has been recently promoted to Head of Tax for Smith & Williamson’s Birmingham office, said: “It’s great to have so many new faces onboard. Their experience and skillsets will be of huge value to our clients at this critical time. We will continue to heavily invest in our people and infrastructure to meet the demands of our growing local, national and international client base.”
More than 15 professionals have joined Smith & Williamson in Birmingham over the last 12 months and there has also been a series of senior promotions since Stephen Drew was appointed as Professional Services Managing Partner last year.
Stephen said: “People are at the heart of our business. Recruiting and developing the best available talent in these challenging times is testament to our commitment to our clients and the West Midlands.
“We have a huge role to play in safely navigating our clients through the current global pandemic, helping them find solutions and to plan proactively for the long-term.
“I am very proud to welcome all of our new team members and look forward to working with them to deliver exceptional services to out clients across the West Midlands and beyond.”
