Smith & Williamson won first place in the ‘Best thought leadership’ category at the Managing Partners’ Forum awards 2019 for its Dream Bigger campaign. The awards took place at the London Marriott on Tuesday 5 March.
The win for Dream Bigger marks the second year in succession the scale-up programme has received a leading industry award. Smith & Williamson competed against seven other firms in the category, which recognised distinctive and engaging thought leadership.
A judge for the category commented: “The panel were impressed by the approach taken, and the role the firm is taking in shaping the broader economic growth debate. Supporting fast growing businesses is increasingly on the policy agenda because of the need to improve UK productivity.
“The firm is shaping this agenda through its involvement with the ScaleUp Institute, tied to the firm’s focus on supporting entrepreneurs. It produced credible and accessible original research, with a personalised version available via an online benchmarking service. It also involved people from across the firm in an initiative that is integrated with its strategic goals.”
Accepting the award on behalf of Smith & Williamson, John Morris, Partner and Scale-up Lead, said: “This is a tremendous achievement and one that reflects all the hard work we are doing to position ourselves as the go-to firm for entrepreneurs and their business interests. We are thrilled with the recognition our unique work has received."
