Experience

As well as corporate insolvency and turnaround advice, Emma’s specialist areas are in the identification and realisation of assets (locally and internationally) for the benefit of creditors.

Emma started her restructuring and insolvency career in the position of cashier working towards that of an appointment taking insolvency practitioner.

This means she is comfortable working with management teams, lenders, shareholders, debtors and creditors alike to find a dynamic workable solution for all stakeholders.

Notable client work and achievements

  • Senior team member working on high profile bankruptcies of controversial author, sportsman and celebrity plus deal with the affairs of bankruptcy tourists who are individuals that try to use UK restructuring processes over those of their home land of say Ireland or Germany to work through their debt issues. Such cases have involved complex hotel investment structures, commercial and residential units internationally.
  • Worked alongside government bodies to investigate fraud to recover £4mil and prepare for complex litigation in £40mil VAT fraud.
  • Investigate tax avoidance schemes, working with legal advisors to prepare for litigation and settlement negotiations which result in dividends to creditors.

Professional qualifications/memberships

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, R3 and former Chair of the R3 Women’s Networking Committee.
