Garry is Head of Private Client Tax in the Jersey office. Prior to joining Smith & Williamson he headed up Private Client Services in Jersey and Guernsey for PwC. He has been working in Jersey since 1993 and moved into tax in 1997.
He advises personal, corporate and trust clients on Jersey, UK and international tax issues. Garry has extensive experience in advising high net worth individuals on breaking UK tax residence and maintaining this status.
He is a regular speaker at conferences on tax issues and internal training sessions and has written a number of articles.
- Providing UK and Jersey tax advice and assistance with housing applications to a number of high net worth individuals moving to Jersey.
- Provision of UK tax advice to trustees, settlors and beneficiaries of Jersey structures relating to changes in UK tax rules.
- Assisting a number of Jersey individuals and businesses across all sectors regarding Jersey income tax issues.
- Preparation of a number of applications to set up and operate businesses in Jersey.
