Ian is responsible for managing bespoke investment portfolios for private clients and charities. He has over 25 years’ experience in the industry. He began his career at NatWest Markets in 1995 before joining Greig Middleton in 1999.
Ian joined Smith & Williamson as an Associate Director in 2007 where he helped set up the successful investment office in Bristol. He was made a director in 2009 before becoming a partner in 2013. He manages multi-asset portfolios across generations for wealthy families, as well as managing endowment and other portfolios for some of the best known charities in the South West of England. He is Chairman of the Bristol Investment committee and a member of the S&W Investment Strategy Group.
Ian also acts as an investment advisor to the British & Foreign School Society (BFSS) in a voluntary capacity.
