Matthew has worked in corporate finance for over 15 years, mainly in the private company sector. He has extensive experience in project-managing transactions for clients and is involved in providing strategic advice to medium-sized enterprises with transactional experience drawn across a wide range of sectors.
He qualified as a chartered accountant with a Big Four firm and joined the Smith & Williamson Corporate Finance department in 2001.
Matthew has worked on a diverse range of projects including acquisitions and disposals, management buyouts, finance-raising and due diligence.
- Disposal of TRM Packaging Limited, one of the leading independent corrugated packaging manufacturers in the UK, to DS Smith Group plc.
- Acquisition advice and transaction support on the acquisition by MxP Partners of Amber Taverns, a community pub company which owned and operated 85 pubs in the North of England.
- Disposal of CGI, a leading designer and supplier of branding solutions and external graphics to a global Automotive and Aerospace customer base, to Mobeus Equity Partners.
- Disposal of a UK passenger transport business to a major European transport group.
