IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR ALL OF STRAND’S CLIENTS

It has been brought to the attention of the Joint Special Administrators (“JSAs”), that a number of Strand’s former clients are being approached by claims management companies. These claims management companies purport to be able to expedite the return of client monies and/or client assets.

Please be aware that the JSAs are intending to pay an interim distribution in relation to client monies before April, and will commence returning client assets as soon as Court has approved the distribution plan. The JSAs do not believe a claims management company will be able to expedite this process.

You should be aware that the claims management company are likely to charge a fee for their involvement. Therefore, there is the prospect that such fees would diminish the ultimate recovery a client receives than would otherwise be the case. However, the ultimate choice (of whether to use such a company) remains with clients, and we do not offer advice in this regard.

Should you have any concerns in respect of the above, please refer to the Financial Services Compensation Schemes guidance on claim management companies which can be found at www.fscs.org.uk/your-claim/claim-management-companies.

Alternatively, please contact a member of the Special Administration case team on 020 7131 4452.
